International Students @ Debney

Debney Park Secondary College is a small multicultural college serving the inner suburbs of Melbourne and welcomes the enrichment International students have to offer.  The school values the input of all cultures.
The school's ethos centres on 'Every Child Matters'. This is reflected in the curriculum which is tailored to individual learning styles. Qualifying for the Leading Schools Fund, the college takes an innovative approach to integrated learning, focusing on literacy and numeracy. The school has a number of staff specialized in teaching English as a Second Language, therefore new arrivals to Australia continue to have extra English support while studying at our school.  This is a great advantage as new students acclimatize to the English spoken in Australia and get ready for further education.
Around 30 VCE subjects are available to students in the Later Years Program (Years 10-12) including English as a Second Language Unit 1–4.  They also have opportunities to study Vocational Education and Training courses in ICT.  Languages available at our school are Italian and Vietnamese.  Students wishing to study other languages are able to enrol in the Victorian School of Languages (VSL) as an extension to their study at our school.  Our school is centrally situated to a number of VSL centres enabling easy access to a wide range of languages.
Our school endeavours to help young people develop happy and health lifestyles by offering individual and group counselling, pathways and careers education and student welfare programs.
As a small school, every student's progress and welfare is closely monitored.
